"A Good Laugh and a Long Sleep"

Thinking his chicken is a duck call..:)

Let's just say Turner makes us laugh out loud many times throughout our day. I know a lot of times it's the 'our first child' moments and the new 'wows' being our first, but I don't care, that boy is funny! As I typed that sentence it makes me think of the iphone and pictures. It's amazing how many pictures accumulate in a weeks time (And I'm not even home with him all day!). Our family is wonderful at enjoying the numerous amounts of pictures I send. It's just so quick! I tell myself...'ok that will be the last one I send...they are probably tired of responding and getting another text from me' but then he turns around with a big cheese moment! I love how my family takes in each picture & sends sweet responses. I will say being on the other side, I LOVE getting pictures of my nieces, so I know it's not TOO bad getting a 'few' pictures of Tman now and then :). I'll try to get better.

Daddy was gone, so we got crazy and made peanut butter cookies!

I had to go up to work late, so I loaded Tman up and he just went right to work!

He loves his pizza!
He was not even up for ten minutes and started pointing to 'trucks' and needed some truck time. I was fine with it since I still needed to get ready for work!

I love his little nook. He will go in there and play with his stuffed animals and then read books.

Turner LOVES picking out my shoes. He really puts his foot down on the shoes he picks out....this time it was my slippers. When my mom got to the house, I started putting on my nice black shoes to leave for work..crying and pointing to my slippers started from Tman. My mom just told me to wear the slippers to the car so he wasn't upset all day.... :).

Loves playing with his baby

Having some lego fun with Grandmama and Aunt Roni

He doesn't let his trucks go too far.

Valentine's Day was sweet!
We made cupcakes for family to be delivered on Valentine's Day. Again, my family humors me and lets 'Turner' make cupcakes and deliver them..what can I say, the boy loves holidays. We are very lucky for our family.
This is something else that amazes me..how much Turner loves to cook with me. We really have fun!

Daddy even joined in on the fun!

Baker Turner sifting the flour.

Just a 'bit' messy

I thought Addison was being romantic by making a heart cake...mmmm..I got a vote that it is a deer instead- That's the way to a girl's heart!

He was very excited about delivering his cupcakes.

Yummy! We even made our own icing
Valentine's Day!! He had such a blast. Marcy was so sweet and invited Tman and Grandmama to her VAlentine's day party at Fun City. He couldn't go the day of love without wishing his sweet girlfriend a Happy Valentine's Day!
She was a sweet friend and kept me up to date with picture text.

Greeted with hugs

He loved the trucks :)

Jackson had Turner go way up! Turner loves Jackson and loves hanging with him! Jackson would yell for Turner to follow him by saying, "Turner Dean! Turner Dean!" Love it! Grandmama loved spending Valentine's day with him!
I got home and we delivered some cupcakes. We had a dinner date with Shugie! Turner loves his truck card she got him & can't wait to visit to play with his truck! Aunt Natalie loved greeting Tman with the annual love balloon. We visited Aunt Lydia at work to give the new bride a big hug! We are very excited for Lydia and Caul!! Tman loves running around her work. It was a day filled with love!

We ended the night with shoving cupcakes in our mouth. Moppy said we could eat hers and Tman said he would do it for love!

"A Good Laugh and a Long Sleep are the Best Cures in the Doctor's Book"
I for sure am getting both of these, so I am one healthy gal!

Celebrating Wonderful

Nanny turned 80 and it was great to celebrate with many family and friends. Turner was VERY grumpy the first hour. It made me nervous that it was going to be a long few hours of partying and introducing Turner to many family members we haven't seen in awhile..

My grandma!! We are two peas in a pod!

THE look the first hour or so..wouldn't let go of me.

Typical two-year-old... he was upset that his blue bucket that is usually out when he's over was tucked away in the closet. Problem solved..the bucket was revealed! Happy boy!

Uncle Beej cutting loose!

Party coordinators! Mom and Roni did such a great job!

She just grabbed Turner up and wanted to take him home! He was such a sweet boy and talking about all his trucks.

Great celebration!
Turner loved celebrating his great grandma's 80th birthday.

..............................................................
Cold outside??
You just move the picnic indoors! Grandmama and Tman had a picnic one day.
If he keeps up his picky eating..we may move it inside for good to get him to eat more.

Because Nice Matters

Don't let this sweet face fool you...
I left my phone at home today, so I rushed home between meetings to squeeze in some Turner time at lunch! I was excited...he decided to scream no...push me away...whine...cry...steal my lunch...throw a few fits...and I was home for 20 minutes.

The time has come. Turner is approaching that wonderful age of 'two'. I have been blessed with a very kind hearted, gentle, sweet, child. He is still those things, but he has added rudeness to his day. I am all knowing in the area of development stages for his age group and all. He is going to throw tantrums, push his boundaries, and hit and such...but I won't tolerate the rudeness.  I know the brain research shows they are mainly living in their right brain hemisphere and you can't talk to them when they are having a tantrum because the left side shuts down. I have to balance knowing the development stage and teaching Turner the difference between right and wrong. I am probably the ONLY one that is having this issue :)....ha!

What I love about this stage is the humor and fascination he finds in everything. He loves to cuddle and read his books. He loves exploring and talking! I LOVE listening to him talk. He said 'Nat' and 'Sh' for Shugie last night! Made my night! He has already developed an opinion on what he wants to wear..and he has this weird thing going on not wanting to take off his clothes. I think he would still be wearing what he wore last week if we had let him.

My proud moments of being a mother: He knows 'my eye' I have stopped many of these issues by the look and shake of the head. I know I sound mean...but motherhood has been where you feel you have no control over anything or 'what you thought you would do' went out the window. My eye has made it through many battles with Turner...hopefully it will continue to work. He knows when to forgive...he will get in trouble again..but what I love is he knows he was wrong and corrects it or finds a way to be sweet in the few minutes.

I have a sign in his playroom (I have had it for YEARS..because I think it pertains to everyone..not just my two-year-old (Almost 2 year old).. "BECAUSE NICE MATTERS' It's simple.
Where's Turner?!?!

I may not always get through to him because of him being THAT AGE...but I know I can model and explain to him that it really matters to be nice. This pushing...yelling no ...and hey!! at the top of your lungs is not ok...but it to shall pass. All we can do is follow through with a clear consequence for his actions...be consistent and... laugh. It's so easy to hear yourself say 'no' so many times with this age...so it's a very big learning experience....mmm...I'm seeing quite the trend here with motherhood :).

I LOVE this stage and what it all brings! It's amazing watching it all unfold and knowing you were right there with it all. Parenting is amazing.

Meet Buck

Hi. This is Buck. Our deer friend who lives with us. He's my best friend. Grandmama and I decided he is so cute he should be on the cover of the Cheerios box. My grandmama is so funny!

I love to give kisses

Grandmama thinks my parents make me go hungry at night.
When I woke, I shoveled all my oatmeal into my starving belly and was finished before Grandmama even had everything else ready. She couldn't believe how fast I ate my oatmeal!

Fun day with Grandmama!
