Gobble Gobble

I decided since I changed my backdrop to Christmas, I better get my Posts up to date. Turner had an older brother for nine days. He loved having someone to play with for 24-hours! Tavi, AJ's Mum, and I had fun watching them act like brothers and them having two moms the whole time- ha! Nothing got by us.

We had a great lunch at Sonya's with the gang.

The boys chatting it up over breakfast talking about what they have 'planned for the day'

Natalie cooked the Turkey this year and it was delicious! Luckily, I took some while Addison was carving because I ended up eating chicken for my lunch (thinking it was turkey the entire time- typical me! BUT the chicken was yummy, too! Win-Win!

My famous fruit salad! I kicked it up a and added a flower made out of grapes--fancy!

Decorated so nice!

The pilgrims were very close to being burned by candlelight by a few boys (I won't mention who but they are under five years old)

Playing in the backyard! HE got to see Hooch this day, so he was happy!

We love Poppy! (Turner's trying to suck up so Hooch can come stay at Christmas!)

The girls chatting in the kitchen after a wonderful meal!

Us moms loving life!

Kids swarm to Aunt Lydia to sing a few tunes!

The night ended early..full bellies, tired heads and no more pie!

Thanksgiving Feast!

I'm very excited about tomorrow. I get to help with Turner's Thanksgiving feast. I love what they do. Each classroom makes part of the meal. Turner's is pumpkin custard. I even got to watch the kiddos make it together this afternoon. I love Turner's school and I am very blessed to be off work in order to be a part of his Thanksgiving feast. Something I'm very thankful for.

What's funny is I'm in charge of 'crowd control' as the teacher put it. I don't think she understands what I can do in this sort of role. She just said with them all wearing their costumes (WHICH I CAN'T WAIT to see Tman!!) and serving all this food, they will be a little 'wild'. I told her I am so ready for this role and can't wait to see all the little ones enjoy their feast! I love kids at this age because when I walk into the classroom, I'm like a superstar!

Turner watched the Thanksgiving Charlie Brown (while stirring his corn and apple sauce together to eat) with his buddy, AJ. I want to make this a new tradition to watch and enjoy a feast like Charlie Brown! I love how Turner will enjoy these little things once he's older. He makes me proud to be his mom everyday! I have so many little traditions I want to begin for Thanksgiving, but I think one more year until he really enoys it to begin them! We are going to make Turkey hands and hats for our feast on Thursday at Shugie's house.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Like I have said a million times the past few weeks, I can't believe it's already November. Like the good ole' saying says, Time flies when you are having fun!

Where have we been??

Bathroom.
Laundry Room.

Let's just say it's hit and miss with potty training. He does not like to go 'plop - plop' at all in the potty. That's enough right there to keep ya busy!

It's been potty training season at our household and as many parents know, it consumes many, many extra minutes. I have been in catch up mode and seem to not be getting anywhere! (And I'm well aware I only have one child..) Mine is mainly work. Hug a teacher today. It's a tough year in their world and we need to keep good teachers teaching our children!

Turner loves his new classroom! Even if from the above picture he doesn't look real thrilled..he really is having a good time! He loves Spanish Mondays and I've been told he is always excited and answering all the teacher's questions when it comes to this. With how shy he is, I was so happy to hear this. We had his first PTC on Friday...was SUPER excited about this!

He's changed A LOT in the past few months. He is trying everything himself, in a big boy bed, talking a lot more and making new friends. He's known in his class as 'the little guy'-- he always tells me he loves the 'funny guy' At PTC, the teacher told me he will just crack himself up and laugh in little spurts about something he said or did... he so gets that from me. I think I'm hilarious most of the time as well.

His favorite phrases:
  - I don't want to.. (Such a fun one)
 - I'll try
-more TREAT (We have been using candy corn for bathroom treats....ready for the bag to be empty)
-Momma go away (he's so sweet sometimes these days)
-Cuddle, please (the other side of being two)

He's now starting to sing along to songs he knows and read along to books. He loves to play kitchen and make us sandwiches. :) (Very important milestones we all don't want to miss!)

Still loves...
  -Outside
 -Trucks
  -Popo and Hooch
-His routines.. (I so wish someone could see him in the morning... it's like he is still not aware he has to leave for school...Just slowly eating his breakfast...getting ready...and so forth..) My patience is gone by 8:00am.

I'm super excited about this post because I actually worked on it a week ago and then hit something. I thought it was gone forever. I took a break from it :) and I came on today and it was still here!!

I really want to get back in the groove of blogging..I love it but just can't seem to find the right time these days.

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather!

Oh, it's not free?!?!

I was busy ending my Friday when I received an email from Turner's school approaching us about not paying tuition since he started school. I am 1. thankful they didnt' kick Turner to the curb 2. not surprised by this email. I really thought I read in the packet that they do this out of the goodness of their hearts. :)
I kindly responded and said I will pay right when I pick Turner up AND I swear I filled out the bank form to autodraft. They are checking on that.

Onto another part of our Friday...I am squeezing in potty training tomorrow. My favorite part of my long conversation on the phone with his teacher was, "Just put him in regular underwear on Monday and bring about six changes of clothes" I just smiled and said, "Ok"  Turner's school isn't new at this. They caught my grand master scheme I was working up and I lost. Turner started school at a time where he was at the edge to move up into the next class. I really wanted him to stay in the 18.5 to 2.5 till he was closer to three. Problem solved. Simple. I love his teacher, he has friends in his class, he actually talks to them, and is loving life! I mean..I JUST made his family poster for the classroom, too.
My plan was to just 'stretch out this potty thing' so he could simply stay. I know, I'm brilliant. Well....I guess that's not really what's going to happen because I guess they educate at this school and he's ready to move up and is ready for the next stage according to his teacher. My favorite quotes from me (I'm such a good mom) "I have the list that states what he needs to do before he moves up, and he can't do 1/2 of that stuff" (teacher corrected me on this)  "I really think he should just stay where he is" (Let me run your school, please) She even had to bluntly ask me "Let's take out the whole moving up to another class. Would you still be up to potty training??" (That's when I knew I was busted....)  SO proud.

After the teacher explained to me some good points, I was ok. I'm not really ok...but I will be ok. It really is about the timing and another transition BUT as we know, I just ignore any kind of transitions until someone really points it out to me. I also (obviously) react a bit...I mean I did pass out from a 'scratch' above Turner's eye..which still really surprises me I did that.  I've learned that about myself in this motherhood thing....I am surprised by things I do more than that new little boy in this world who is new at ALL OF THIS, too.

I told her I still have some concerns and am not optimistic about this whole "bring him in underwear on Monday" I now am going to squeeze in potty training tomorrow. Wish me luck! (I know you are wishing me luck on more things than just Sunday's potty training adventure"

:)

Let's fall back for a second

It hit me this weekend  from the 1,000 post for football season, tailgating, fall post on Pinterest and the CUTEST Halloween decor that I will not get around to making popping up everywhere, that fall is almost here! I need to fall back for a second because I'm not even close to my summer updates for 2012 summer fun!
A glimpse back...just a few..still not done and some may be repeats. (obviously I need to get organized)

Welcomed sweet baby Avery to the world!

Had a fun filled week/end with my BFF for her birthday!

Celebrating with their mommy! Beautiful cake!

Flirting

Random...but I LOVE this and can't believe how expensive they are!!
I think it's the cutest booster! I'm happy 3 Monkeys moved BACK to Fayetteville and wish I saw this BEFORE Turner's birthday because I would have purchased this in a heartbeat! I know he so would of rather had this than trucks.

Good night with friends!
We went and heard (to be honest with you I can't remember who we went and listened to...) I do remember it was great time with friends who we don't see enough of and loved having a date night with the hubs! Thanks to Shugie for watching Tman!

We had many fun evenings on the 4-wheeler! I had a 'near death experience' when I was in 4th grade riding a 4-wheeler so I've been scared of them ever since..BUT I am starting to practice a little bit to ride around. I'll ride with Addison with no problem and we have a blast taking the trail (It's so fun watching PoPo try to keep up with us)

We still love this little doggie! OR should I say little horse?? He is the best puppy and can't believe how big he's getting :)
Turner loves showing off his tricks he learns ...mainly from me. I sometimes have the maturity of a two-year-old, so we are a perfect pair!

Aunt Lydia is getting married!!

As I posted in February, Uncle Caul proposed to Aunt Lydia. We couldn't be happier. Turner LOVES Uncle Caul and learned his name the 1st out of the family crew! Caul also (without any prompting) told me while we were at the beach I remind him of Rachel from friends. Anyone who knows me, knows this makes him my favorite!
They are getting married in May and Turner can't wait to celebrate on their big day. I know they will have perfect pictures because EVERY TIME I take a picture of the three of them together, Turner immediately poses and it's a perfect picture!

This summer I went with Lydia and Shugie to look at wedding dresses. She looked beautiful in every single one! I had fun taking very detailed notes! I looked like a very official sis-in-law helping.

Mother of the bride!

Lydia is so cute and creative!
She made these cute baskets to ask her bridemaids. Her favorite movie is Father of the Bride, so it was the center of the theme. I love it! The week she got engaged I found youtube videos of my favorite scenes from the movie and sent it to her. I told her I'll be more than happy to act out some of her favorite scenes--a bridesmaid at her finest.

So happy for these two and this year of celebration!
They are a perfect pair and I see nothing but smiles on their face whenever they are together. They also put a smile on Tman's face plenty and we are working on Turner's dance moves for the dance floor-very important.
