Turner Turns Two Tomorrow

I've been waiting a whole year to use my clever alliteration title! :) Addison has noticed lately Turner has my 'sense of humor' and reaction to 'funny things'....in other words, he has my dorky side. It is true. His laugh, reaction and humor is just like mine. My alliteration comment is a great example of my dorky side.

Happy Birthday to my Tman tomorrow! Like anyone would say, I can't believe he is two...

He's gearing up for the big day!

Aunt Nat and Turner are six days and a 'few' years apart. We celebrated at Shugie's house and had a lovely dinner, cupcakes and banana pudding! Turner got practice of pretending to blow out her candles and did not cry while singing happy birthday. Let's hope for the best!

Birthday girl!!

He made sure he still enjoyed ice cream so he could have it with his cake.

He tried on his attire- loving his hunting hat!

He practiced sliding and running around outside to gear up for outside games!

He got his first birthday card from Shugie in the mail yesterday! He loved it and was quite amusing to watch opening the card.
Sums up the difference between my sweet one year old and my sweet two year old below.. .:)

I do know he will be ready to fill his belly with cake and ice cream!
Turner turns two tomorrow and I can't wait to celebrate with the little guy this weekend!

Huge Sigh...

Mum goes back to work tomorrow....

Enough said.

As always making the glass 1/2 full, I'm lucky to 1. Have Grandmama  back with Tman tomorrow! 2. I had a week off!

Woo hoo!
Spring Break 2012!

Mind Your Manners, Mum.

I learned my lesson. You know that quote, "While we try to teach our children about life, our children teach us what life is all about"? Turner pretty much does both of these in our household.

Running 10 minutes late already. I'm trying to pack snacks and get Turner ready to go to a dinner. Addison is down at the shop helping Uncle Caul with a trailer..I went outside to get something from the fridge to go back inside to finish so we could leave... Turner did not want to come back inside.

"Turner, get inside. We are late."
The stare
"Turner (With my strong mother eye) do not just stand there. Get inside"
The stare
"Get inside. I should not have to tell you this many times."
The stare
"We are very late. Daddy will be up in a second. We need to leave."
The stare
"Turner please come inside."
..shrug of shoulders. Smile.
He enters
.
Mother here never said please. Why should he come inside??...learned my lesson! :) I.love.this.kid.

Spring Break 2012!! Woo hoo!

Our Spring Break officially started today, so we got rid of the paci! I told him it's time to say our goodbyes. He waved..smiled..and was saying bye.I teared up...he came walking to give a hug (slow background music..)..he then saw a bug, so he started running after it. He really didn't get it..and he REALLY didn't get it at nap. No nap today..but he's asleep now..we shall see. I had Addison pick up the 'Turtle Star Light' thinking that could be the next step/distraction. Again...we shall see.

We have had some fun days.
Loving his independence lately (& I really mean that) I also love the big hugs he gives me. He's talking a lot and has the funniest expressions on his face. His big big expression where he shakes his whole body is priceless!

Just makes you smile

This tree was beautiful this year! Loved driving up to it daily

His big boy look

Enjoying outside play

Broke my heart...Addison was out of town and Turner wanted to hang out with the boys. We went on a hike..and when we got to the shop he just knew Daddy was in there. He didn't understand why he wasn't letting him in. So sad. Needless to say, I had to carry my crying child to the 'next fun thing' I could find.

Marcy invited Turner and my mom to make a pizza! He loved it. He put sausage and pickles on his pizza. They went to the park afterwards and he ate the entire thing!

Sooner or later...he was trying to chase after kitty-kitty. :)
 He didn't get too far.

Contemplating.

Goofing off for Daddy! When Daddy travels I take lots of pictures to send him...I know if I was gone as much as he is, I would want many!

Luck of the Irish! Wishing his good friend, Jevin, a happy 2nd birthday!!

Picking out his birthday present..I know Addison will pull this picture out a few years from now when Turner is whining from mowing the yard for his allowance. :)

We were at Barnes and Noble JUST in time to see Cat in the Hat!!

Razorback Baseball Game! We had a blast!

Cuddling with Aunt Lydia

Taking some 'me' time after a long day...

Heading off to church! I was so happy he actually wore the tie. Such a big boy!

Love this picture

Got a haicut! He actually sat in the airplane.

Saying bye-bye to his paci...like I said...he didn't get it :)

Fun times outside with Grandmama! A picture she took that I loved!

"I got my haircut today." (

He heard it was raining, so he needed some rainboots.
I was surprised that he actually wanted them!

It's what's for dinner!
Sliders, carrot chips and sweet potato fries! He ate the fries and slider. I am bound and determined to get him to eat veggies. He threw a HUGE fit because he wanted a rice krispie treat for dessert, but I didn't give him one because he didn't eat his carrots. I love cooking! I will keep trying to be creative with the veggies...any tricks up your sleeve, please share!

Shout it from the rooftop!

We are flossing Turner's teeth!

This amazes me that I'm actually performing this task since I'm terrified of teeth. When I was in the classroom and kids were so excited to show me their loose tooth (I really thought by 12 they were all adult teeth anyways...) I turned and told them that's gross.

Turner had his first dentist appointment last week. Dr. Ward said we can start flossing his teeth..so that's what we do.

If the dentist asked me to stand on my head and sing Christmas carols while brushing my teeth..I would. What I hate is how Addison comes back from the dentist all pearly white (probably because he doesn't drink a gallon of coffee a day like I do) and he's 'all clear' and I do EVERYTHING the dentist tells me..and there's always something. The only thing I have going for me when I sit in that chair is my dimple..that's the only thing the Dr can dig for to compliment around my mouth area....

Turner is such a good flosser!! He opens wide and just lets me get it done. He was so proud of himself when he was finished tonight..all smiles! (Secretly, I was prouder of myself because this again shows the love of a mother....I hated how nobody was around to see my accomplishment because I don't think Turner understands how brave 'mum' was at that moment. So brave.)

Good times.

Belly Laughs & My Little Hero

I recently read this post from a blog I follow. (My new thing in the last six months...I LOVE reading blogs) It's my new 'mum time' ...along with Pinterest..I can't help it.

This mom posted 'How Have Your Children Saved You?'...LOVED IT! Just what I needed to read at that moment. One reason I LOVE reading blogs is because it always seems to be the perfect moment I need to read that certain post and it's a connection with other writers. Love it!

Here's the link so you can enjoy reading what I did:

Here's my little hero:

Let's just say he brings a smile to my face..even when he insist on rubbing cream all over that poked out belly of his!
What I captured as a memory was when he looked up and saw me laughing..he started his good ole' belly laugh! We laughed together for a bit and then moved on with our nightly routine.
I think many have the nightly routine of belly laughs...Turner just insisted on adding some cream to the mix!

Powder Oops

Yes...this is typical and poor Turner gets the brunt of many of my 'Katy moments' that many of my friends refer these as. :)

Turner LOVES putting a 'bit' of powder on himself. I thought it was closed and did this as we were getting ready for bed. OOPS!

We have many laughs around the home.

As I post these sorts of things, I always think of all the pictures like this Turner will look back upon when he's older, give me that look and tell me he loves how during these moments we took time to stop, laugh, snap a picture before cleaning it up. ..Mum of the year!

I hope I have time to blog this weekend!! I have so much to catch up on!
